Water:
crashing, rushing,
lifting, tossing, drowning
seeping and eroding, unstopped,
because
ashes
marked us Wednesday;
but here comes the water,
unrelenting, penetrating,
blessing
in drops,
sprinkles, dunkings,
saving from death, through death,
not thwarted nor denied by death:
God’s love.
